Check in and get settled Friday, late afternoon, June 6, 2025 between 3-6 pm. Checkout is Sunday, after cleaning and packing up, around 12 pm on June 9, 2025.

Friday is YoYo! [You’re on your own] Grab something on the way. Go out to eat with friends when you get there. Just make sure you are ready for our first session at 7 pm.
Included: Saturday & Sunday continental breakfast options with coffee and hot tea. If you have specific dietary needs, please bring some breakfast that will compliment what we are providing. (Pastries. Cereal. Yogurt. Granola. Fruit. Etc.)
Included: A Saturday catered lunch at the retreat center.
Saturday dinner is YoYo! Feel free to bring some snacks or food that will accommodate your needs for supper. There may be leftovers from lunch. There are several restaurants in town you can dine at with friends. There are refrigerators in each of the houses we will be using.

Our simple gathering is going to be intentional about creating space for you to spend with God. Therefore, our teaching will be from Ruth Chou Simons and her book, Now and Not Yet. We will be working through the study guide she created (The study guide is provided as part of your retreat fee.). We will also watch her excellent and practical video teaching on the idea of what it means to live in the now and not yet. We will spend time in smaller groups for reflection and discussion. We will spend some extended personal quiet time with a deep dive into scripture from the study guide that will challenge us as we renew, restore, and reconnect with God.
Pastor Cyndi Abbe will also lead a very personal and practical session on Sunday morning called, Chasing Sacred. She will give a biblical picture of sacred attachments and how, we as women, need to understand them, as well as, what to do when we’ve lost them.
You will be blessed with some creative and meaningful ways to worship as we experience the presence of God.

• June in Round Top can be hot. Check the weather forecast before you leave. DRESS CASUAL & COMFORTABLE; this is NOT a fashion show. Think about bringing a light sweater or blanket, some ladies get cold in the meeting room. Don’t overpack!
• Personal items: washcloth, bath towel, soap, shampoo, etc…although makeup is totally optional. And think about getting with your roomie to lighten the load. Only one of you bring a blow dryer or curling iron. Before the retreat we will give you your room assignment and the size of sheets you will need to bring. If you are particular about your pillow, bring it too.
• Ear plugs, eye masks, fans, snacks, sodas or sparkling waters of your choice, etc.
• Any prescriptions or over-the-counter medications you many need.
• Your favorite insulated mug for ice-water, coffee, or tea.
• Bring your Bible. Your study guide will be provided. Maybe a journal to write and reflect in.

Each guest can reserve their spot at A Simple Gathering for $200. (Cost includes 2-night stay 3 meals, worship, teaching, resources & surprises.) You will need to cover 2 meals. Other than that, there are no additional expenses except your personal transportation to and from the retreat. OPTIONAL expense: If you choose to go shopping on the way, in Round Top, are on the way home..

Once ladies have registered, you can begin to work on carpools with friends. Coordinate times when people are leaving on Friday and catch a ride or provide a ride for someone.

Once your $100 deposit is made, it is not refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may gift your spot to a friend instead. If that occurs, please let us know asap so we can update our information and send them registration forms.

If you have physical limitations, handicap needs, or serious medical conditions please let us know ahead of time, so we can make accommodations for sleeping arrangements.

The retreat center rooms and beds are located on the second floor. There are about a dozen room that are on the first floor. We will try to accommodate as best we can. Each room has a variety of beds from twin, to bunk, to full, to queen, and a few kings. has bunk beds, twins, queens, and king beds.
